Spring is almost here, and Ocean Isle Beach is ready with loads of great family-friendly events and activities that you won’t want to miss. Here are some of the best events in and around the area that are perfect for your Ocean Isle Beach vacation.

Bunny Dayz Easter Egg Hunt

Easter Egg Hunt

Everyone loves an Easter Egg hunt! The folks in nearby Shallotte have the perfect place for one. On March 24, 2018, head over to Mulberry Park for a morning of Easter fun.

Shallotte, NC is just a short drive from your Ocean Isle Beach vacation home. The event takes place from 9:30 am to 11:00 am. The event is free and open to the public.

Wine & Swine

Grissettown Longwood Fire & Rescue proudly presents Wine & Swine… the BBQ Cook-Off on BBQ Road, hosted by Silver Coast Winery onApril 13-14, 2018.

Friday, April 13th will be the friendly wing competition from6:00 pm-8:00 pm. It is free to the public. Grissettown Longwood Fire & Rescue will be selling wings and Silver Coast Winery will be selling wine and beer.

Saturday, April 14th the festival is from10:00 am-4: 00 pmwith a $5.00 admission which will include 3 BBQ tasting tickets and a People’s Choice ticket. More BBQ tasting tickets will be available for purchase. A panel of judges will begin judging at11:00 amand People’s Choice will be from11:00 am-2: 00 pm. DJ Butch Barnes will be our featured music.

There will be vendors as well as Grissettown Longwood Fire & Rescue will be selling pulled pork plates, pulled pork sandwiches and BBQ Chicken along with all the fixings. Silver Coast Winery will be selling wine, beer, water, and soda.

Taste of Calabash

On April 21, 2018, you’re invited to the third annual Taste of Calabash. Located just a short drive from your Ocean Isle Beach vacation rental, the small fishing town of Calabash is a great place to spend the day. Self-described as the “Seafood Capital of the World,” Calabash is a seafood lovers paradise.

The Taste of Calabash takes places between 11 am and 6 pm at the Calabash Community Park. The park is located at 868 Persimmon Road, Calabash, NC. This family-friendly event features music, food, and fun!

Tickets are $8.00 in advance and $10.00 at the door. Tickets entitle you to eat way too much great local seafood.

Wine Fest 2018

Wine FestThe Museum of Coastal Carolina and Ingram Planetarium join forces for the 2018 Wine Fest. This event is a wonderful way to get out and support two of the areas best attractions.

The theme for this year’s event is “World of Wine.” During the event, there will be both a silent and live auctions with lots of great items to bid on.

There will be a wine tasting, and food will be provided by local restaurants. The event takes place on April 28, 2018, from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Tickets are $50.00 per person.

The Museum of Coastal Carolina and Ingram Planetarium Events

The Wine Fest is certainly not the only event the museum and planetarium hold. These two sister organizations put on dozens of great events throughout the spring. Events range from kid-friendly story times to dazzling night sky explorations at the planetarium. There is always something fun going on at these two great Ocean Isle Beach favrorites.

Far Out Shoot Out: May 5-19th

If you love fishing and you want to test yourself against some of the best in the area, then you won’t want to miss the Ocean Isle Fishing Center’s Far Out Shoot Out Tournament. This Tuna, Dolphin, and Wahoo Rodeo is a 15-day long tournament that is perfect for visitors and locals alike. The tournament offers several events and different ways to test your fishing prowess.

Silver Coast Winery Book Signings

In May, the Silver Coast Winery will host two book signings by authors Donna Everhart and Mary Alice Monroe. Both book signings will take place at 5:00 pm, are free and open to the public.

On May 18th, the winery hosts North Carolina native, Donna Everhart and her book,The Road to Bittersweet

On May 25th, Mary Alice Monroe, a New York Times best-selling author will presentBeach House Reunion.
