Summer is just around the corner, and it’s time to start thinking about all those fun Ocean Isle Beach summer events. There are so many great happenings to add to your beach vacation itinerary. OIB is the premier destination on the North Carolina coast for family-friendly events. It’s no wonder families return year after year. SUMMER CONCERT SERIES
Beginning around the end of May, each Friday evening features toe-tapping and hip-swaying tunes at Town Center Park. The concert series lasts all summer, with the final performance in September. There’s always a great variety of live bands playing country, rock, beach, and jazz music. All concerts are free to the public. The music starts at 6:30 PM and continues until 8:00 PM, making it perfect for kids as well. Make sure to bring a chair, as there is no designated seating. The nearby towns of Shallotte and Sunset Beach usually have a summer concert series if you want to add more music to your summer plans!
MOVIES IN THE PARK SERIES
Kick back, relax, and enjoy the show with a free movie during the summer’s Movies in the Park Series! Family-friendly movies are featured each Wednesday night throughout the summer (late May through mid-August) at Town Center Park. Enjoy on-site vendors and food trucks as well. The movies start at dusk, usually between 8:00 and 8:30 PM. Be sure to bring a comfy blanket or chairs. For more info and what movies will be shown, click here.
OCEAN ISLE BEACH MARKET SERIES
Featuring a variety of baked goods, fresh produce, and a broad range of handcrafted items, the Ocean Isle Beach Market Series brings together all kinds of wonderful goodies! You can find the market at Town Center Park every Tuesday throughout the summer from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Shopping at the market series lets you enjoy delicious treats and supports our local community. It’s a win for everyone! There are also spring and Black Friday markets, so be sure to check those out. ANNUAL FOURTH OF JULY CELEBRATION
Let freedom ring and celebrate America’s birthday Ocean Isle Beach style! This much-anticipated summer event gives visitors an opportunity to enjoy a festive parade featuring decked-out floats, golf carts, bikes, and more. PIRATE WEEK
Arrrghhhh you ready for a whole week of swashbuckling fun? Please make plans to enjoy Pirate Week with us! Presented by the Museum of Coastal Carolina and The Town of Ocean Isle Beach Recreation Department, you’ll feel ready to set sail on the open seas in no time. OCEAN ISLE BEACH SUMMER EVENTS FOR KIDS
There are so many great summer events on Ocean Isle Beach geared towards kids every summer, and we hope you’ll let your young ones try them all! On Wednesday mornings throughout June, July, and August, your kids can feel like real-life pirates as they participate in a scavenger hunt across the island and hunt for hidden treasures. The hunt begins at Town Center Park. On Thursday mornings during the summer, let them show their creative side with Art in the Park. They can create a new, free craft at Town Center Park each week.
Around the fourth of July, Ocean Isle Beach typically holds a Beach Bash for kids at Town Center Park featuring fun things to do, like a photo booth, music, and crafts.
